Here's what The Treehouse is learning in April...

This Month’s Attribute of God Is: God is Redeemer

Jesus took the punishment for sin and rose from the dead, defeating death and offering new life to all who believe. Jesus revealed that all of Scripture points to His redemptive mission to save people from sin. The promise of His return assures believers that redemption is not only a past event but a future hope. God sent the Holy Spirit to empower His followers and continue His work of redemption through the Church. God is our Redeemer who rescues, restores, and brings new life through Jesus.

Monthly Memory Verse:   For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 ESV)

Week 1:

The Cross and the Empty Tomb | Mark 15:13–16:8; Luke 23:26–24:9

Jesus was beaten, mocked, and died on a cross in between two thieves. He was buried in a tomb. Three days later, His disciples went to the tomb and found it empty! Angels said, “He is not here! He is risen!”

Brite Idea: Jesus defeated death!

Week 2:

The Road to Emmaus | Luke 24:13–35

Two of Jesus’ followers were walking when Jesus joined them, though they didn’t recognize Him. He explained how the Old Testament pointed to Him and His mission to save people from sin. Later, their eyes were opened—they realized He was alive!

Brite Idea: God gave us the Bible to point to Jesus.

Week 3:

Jesus’ Return Is Promised | Acts 1:1–11

Jesus appeared to His disciples many times and taught about God’s kingdom. He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit. Then He ascended into heaven. The disciples were told that Jesus would return one day in the same way that He left.

Brite Idea: Jesus will return one day.

Week 4:

The Holy Spirit Arrives | Acts 2:1–41

At Pentecost, the disciples heard wind from heaven and tongues of fire appeared above their heads. Filled with the Holy Spirit, they spoke in foreign languages. Peter preached about Jesus, and 3,000 people believed and were baptized, beginning the Church.

Brite Idea: The Holy Spirit lives in believers.
