The Orthodox Church is the national religion of Bulgaria, but it’s a mixture of tradition and paganism and few people actually practice it. But they aren’t observing any other religion either. Less than 2% of the population of this former communist country is considered to be evangelical Christian and they are seen as part of a cult by most. But every day God is at work in this region, as young men and women are being touched by the message of Jesus Christ.

Older teens who have already made a profession of faith and who are leaders within their youth groups come from all over Bulgaria for intense discipleship. This year the Academy will travel throughout nearby Greece to visit historical Biblical sites and teach at them. For example, teach through parts of Acts and Philippians at Philippi, Thessalonians at Thessaloniki, etc. We’ll travel throughout Macedonia and maybe even visit Mount Olympus for a hike. Team participants should be mature believers ready to teach and disciple with creative and yet strong Biblical lessons
