John has a passion for people and for helping them to have a growing relationship with Christ. He grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, and worked in the business world for several years before the Lord called him into ministry. John earned his Master of Arts in Christian Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and then served as a youth pastor in Cleveland, Tennessee for 9 years. He then served as Associate Pastor in North Augusta, South Carolina, before returning to “God’s Country” in east Tennessee to serve as Lead Pastor at ChristWay in July of 2006. John is madly in love with his wife, Angie, who supports him in ministry, and he’s proud of his children, Mitchell (and his daughter-in-law, Liz) and Matthew (and his wife, Heather), and his grandson Oliver. John enjoys working out, skydiving, riding roller coasters, flipping houses and even watching the grass grow!
